When I drew this in the mid-90′s, two of my favorite comic book characters were Doctor Leonard Samson and Simon Peak. I borrowed from both characters when I designed Lore. I borrowed their names for the third panel.

I stole the lettering technique in the upper-left panel from Terry Moore’s Strangers In Paradise. He uses often lettering as a graphic element in his comics.
